How to swap high quality video with the original one on youtube?
Is it possible to do, now that youtube supports high quality video files.
Unfortunately, you cannot “swap” videos
thinking that all their data (views, ratings,
statistics, comments, etc.) will be intact.
Those “links” will be cut/severed and the
newer video’s numbers will begin from 0.
Instead of deleting the old video, I would
keep it on YouTube, upload the new one
and call it the same thing — but with the
added words “high quality”.
Afterwards, I would tweak the title of the
older video by adding words like “original
quality”.
You can also do this using “annotations”
which would give you the extra benefit of
including a direct link to the newer video.
The coolest aspect about using my trick
is that the 2 videos should appear rather
close to each other not only in “Related
Videos”, but also within “search results”.
